Chamber Names Christmas Decoration Contest Winners

Hazel and Leon Buford were honored as one of the winners in the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas Decorating Contest. They received their prize from MACC member Rick Fischer.

All that is missing is the snow. Area residents have once again enhanced the Christmas spirit with festive holiday decorations. On Saturday, the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce rewarded the three best decorated homes in the group's annual Christmas Decorating Contest.

Chamber member Rick Fischer announced the winners following the December 15th judging.

Boyd and Jeannie Bissell took home top honors for their decorations at their residence at the corner of Jackson and Monroe streets. They received $80 in Memphis Bucks.

Second place was awarded to the Leon and Hazel Buford residence at 115 N. Adams Street and third place went to the Scott and Debra Goff residence at 414 N. Market Street. Second prize was $60 in Memphis Bucks with $40 in the MACC gift certificates going to third place.

The top prize for the commercial category was awarded to the Scotland County Pharmacy.
