Restoration surgery on Kellie's right hip and leg required five hours to complete. He remained in intensive care until his death.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Ann (Ginny Pollock) Elkins of Pekin, IL; one brother Steve and his wife Pat, of Indian Creek, FL; two aunts, Olive (Pollock) Olt of Pekin, IL, and Bette (Pollock) Wiley of Memphis; several cousins and a host of friends.

His father, Richard Elkins, preceded Kellie in death one year ago.

Burial was in Pekin Cemetery on Tuesday, December 20, 2011.
