THERA FAY JACKSON
(10/ 23/1917 - 1/2/2012)



Fay Jackson, 94 a resident of the Scotland County Care Center since May 21, 2007, formerly of Downing, Missouri passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012.

The daughter of Raymond Elmer and Dobey Edith (Burton) Kelso, Fay was born on October 23, 1917 in rural Downing, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Forrest Olen Jackson on January 24, 1946 in Kahoka, Missouri and to this union 2 sons were born, Mike and Marshall.

Survivors include her children, Mike Jackson of Downing, Missouri and Marshall Jackson and wife, Debbie of Mingo, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Melissa Williams and husband, Tony of Marshalltown, Iowa, Joseph Jackson of Elmhurst, Illinois and Shawna Opheim and husband, Dan of New Orleans; 1 sister, Kathleen Kelso of Memphis, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and other family members.

Fay is preceded in death by parents; her husband, Forrest (Frosty) on March 29, 1987; 1 brother, Kenneth Kelso and 3 sisters, Onalee Aeschliman, Eva York and Velma Humphries.

Fay was a member of the United Methodist Church of Downing, Missouri where she attended faithfully as long as her health permitted.

She was a devoted wife and mother and loved all children, as she and Frosty were foster parents to many children. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Downing, Missouri with Homer Poor, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Downing, Missouri officiating. Organist, Twila Anderson, will provide music. A special musical selection of "The Old Rugged Cross" will be provided. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Downing, Missouri one hour prior to the services. Memorials have not yet been designated. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery in Downing, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster and Downing, Missouri.
