JODY DEWAYNE KIRCHNER
(10/12/1961 - 1/16/2012)



Jody DeWayne Kirchner, 50, of Donnellson, IA, died at 9:43 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 12, 1961 in Fort Madison, IA, the son of Dutch and Faye (Forsythe) Kirchner.

He married Allison Kesselring on May 29, 1982, in Donnellson, IA. She survives.

Survivors include two daughters, Ceara Kirchner of Iowa City, IA and Tosha Kirchner of West Des Moines, IA; his father, Dutch Kirchner of Donnellson, IA; a sister, Julie (Jim) Maddox of Keokuk, IA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Faye, and his grandparents.

Jody was a 1980 graduate of Central Lee High School. He was employed in the trucking business with his father for many years before working for Lee County Secondary Roads in 1995.

He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson, IA.

He also was a member of the Three Rivers Tractor Club and was a Central Lee FFA alumni.

Jody enjoyed spending time with his family, trout fishing, hunting, bowling, restoring IH tractors with his dad, helping his friends farm, riding his Harley and spending time with friends at the shop.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Donnellson, IA, with the Rev. Robert Koepcke officiating.

Burial was in the Embury Cemetery, rural Donnellson, IA.

Memorials may be made to the Sandra J. Schulz American Cancer Society Hope Lodge - Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; Donnellson Vision, Ins.; or Lee County Hospice.
