ALBERT EARL WADDELL
(12/24/1941 - 26/03/2012)

Albert Earl Waddell passed away Monday afternoon March 26, 2012 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.

The son of John and Dorothy (Crouse) Waddell, he was born December 24, 1941 in Springfield, Illinois. Upon graduation in 1959 from Rochester High School, Rochester IL, he attended Northwest Missouri State University where he studied Agricultural Economics, graduating in 1964. He married Neta Darlene Russell in June of the same year and to this union three sons were born: Robert Curt, John Thomas (Tom) and William Albert (Bill).

Al worked within various agricultural endeavors for his entire life. He enjoyed all aspects of farming and spent many years in the agro-chemical and fertilizer fields. He was an excellent judge of livestock and accomplished cattleman. Al was passionate in developing his sons' hobbies of showing pure breed cattle and hogs at many local and state events. Later in life he became an avid coon hunter and always maintained either a hound or canine pet.

In 1988 he married Rayetta (Marie) DeVore who was a devoted and loving spouse until his passing.

In his later years Al was blessed with two grandsons; William and Samuel Waddell and two step grandsons; Dalton and Claton DeVore. Al was a committed and very proud Grandpa who always had time to 'check the cows', take tractor rides or go fishing - no matter what.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of the home, parents John and Dorothy Waddell of Leesburg, FL, brother Fred Waddell of Lakeview AR, two sisters; Jean Waddell of Bradenton FL, and Susan Piscator of Upper Black Eddy, PA, two sons; Robert of Memphis and Tom of Doha, Qatar, Grandsons William and Samuel of Doha, Qatar, Step-Grandsons Dalton and Clayton DeVore of Livonia MO, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Bill.

Memorials are suggested to the Scotland County Cancer Fund

Al requested his body be donated to the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and upon the return of his cremains that they be scattered by his family.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
