ALMA MARGARET BROWN
(4/11/1927 - 3/29/2012)



Alma Margaret Brown, 84, of Sun City, AZ., passed away on March 29, 2012. The daughter of Arlie and Lois Croley Tippett, she was born April 11, 1927, in Memphis, MO.

She moved to Phoenix in 1957, to begin her teaching career at Glendale High School. She also taught at Cortez High, NAU, Glendale Community College, and Phoenix College. After retirement, she devoted her time to animal rescue and taking care of her many cat and dog friends.

She is survived by her son, Stoney, (Shawna) Brown, their daughter Wendi in Sun Valley, Idaho and her daughter Maggie, (Nick) Figueroa and their children Mathew, (AnnEve) Figueroa, James Figueroa, Megan (Erik) Johnson, and 7 great grand children, all living in the Phoenix area.

A memorial service was held at Christ Church of the Valley, on April 11, 2012. Memorial Services in will be held in Memphis, on June 23, 2012, with the time to be announced at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Memphis Cemetery east of Memphis MO.

Local arrangements are under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
