HUDSON "REX" COTTON
(2/3/1927 - 10/25/2012)

Hudson "Rex" Cotton, 85, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away October 25, 2012, following a lengthy illness of Parkinson's.

He was born February 3, 1927 in Scotland County, Missouri, the son of Charles Glen and Lucille Tennant Cotton.

Rex graduated from Granger High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Air Force after graduation and served 7 1/2 years. After his discharge from the military, he moved to Portland, Oregon and began his career at DuPont and retired after 31 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Charles Wayne Cotton, who was killed in World War II, and Gerald "Max" Cotton, who passed away in 2002; two cousins, P.C. Cotton and Don York; Barbara Bryant, a neighbor and close friend for many years.

Survivors include nieces Debbie Gray and Sandi Jean Cranmer, nephews Jerry W. and Jim Cotton; two cousins, Norma Cotton of Memphis, Missouri and Lawanda Hardman-York of Santa Ana, California; and Barbara's children and grandchildren, whom he considered his family.

Rex was a train enthusiast and enjoyed the train hobby his entire life through models and travel while he could and later through videos and memorabilia.

A memorial service was held November 3, 2012 at the Quarry, the residential care facility where he had lived for the past four years. At his request, his remains were scattered along the railroad tracks.
