Lady Tigers Bomb Brashear 56-18 in Tourney Opener

Scotland County rebounded from a slow start to blow by Brashear in the opening round of the North Shelby Tournament on January 16th.

SCR-I led 9-6 after the first eight minutes of play behind a pair of field goals from Jessica Morrow and a three pointer from Courtney Jackson.

That margin grew significantly in the second period courtesy of a 16-4 run by the Lady Tigers. Megan Creek fueled the rally with six points and Jackson and Dial both hit shots from behind the arc to push the halftime lead to 25-10.

Scotland County continued to add to the lead, outscoring Brashear 11-3 in the third period behind the perimeter shooting of Jackson and Dial. On the night, the duo connected on six three pointers.

Creek took over in the fourth period, as SCR-I exploded for 20 points in the final eight minutes of play. The junior forward scored 12 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth to help make the final score 56-18.

Jackson added 12 points for SCR-I, which improved to 8-6 on the season with the win, and Dial added nine points.
