Lady Tigers Celebrate Courtwarming With 48-36 Win Over Milan
The Lady Tigers had their offense on display early Friday night, but it was their play on the other end of the court that ruled the night as Scotland County celebrated a 48-36 Courtwarming victory over Milan.
SCR-I took a 18-15 lead in the first period as Megan Creek and Jessica Morrow dominated the interior game early on, combining for 13 points.
Creek continued to put up the points in the second quarter, knocking down a three pointer to help extend the lead. Courtwarming queen Kiley Frazier added a pair of field goals to help build a 33-23 advantage at the half. The defense allowed just two Milan field goals in the second period.
Those efforts carried over into the third period, when the Lady Tigers defense again limited Milan to just eight points. SCR-I used field goals by Frazier and Bethany Rader as well as a three pointer by Cali Holt to extend the lead to 42-31.
SCR-I clamped down even further in the game's final eight minutes, holding Milan to just five points en route to the 48-36 victory. Morrow helped seal the win with six points down the stretch.
Scotland County improved to 10-7 on the season, and even the team's Tri Rivers Conference record at 3-3. Creek finished with 15 points to lead all scorers. Morrow added 11 points.
Milan (11-4, 4-2 TRC) was led in scoring by Danah Page with 11 points.
