Lady Tigers Named to Academic All-State Softball Teams
The Scotland County softball team put away the bats, balls and gloves back in the fall, but the Lady Tigers have continued hitting the books, helping the squad earn special recognition from the Missouri State Fast-Pitch Softball Coaches' Association.
Eight members of the team were named to the academic all-state softball teams. Seniors Elizabeth Duzan, Loren Smith, and Kiley Frazier were named to the first team, along with sophomores Shaye Wright and Bethany Rader. Players had to maintain a grade point average of 3.88 or better to earn the recognition.
Senior Courtney Jackson and freshmen Randi Slaughter and Claire Shannan earned second team honors with grade point averages between 3.75 and 3.87 on the 4 point scale.
SCR-I received special team recognition for maintaining a cumulative GPA above 3.3 as a team. The team's combined GPA was 3.76.
