Dial's Doubles Down Brashear 11-2

Hailey Dial cracks the second of three doubles on the night as she led SCR-I to the win over Brashear.

Hailey Dial found a spot to her liking on the right-center fence at her home ball park on Monday night. The junior first baseman pounded three nearly identical line drives in the gap, peppering the fence and the visiting Brashear Lady Tigers for three doubles leading SCR-I to an 11-2 win.

Dial got the Lady Tigers rolling in the bottom of the first inning. After Randi Slaughter reached on a bunt single and Bethany Rader was hit by a pitch, Dial delivered a clutch two-out double to plate both runners. She then scored when Brieanna Priebe reached on an error to make it 3-0.

Shaye Wright singled to start the second inning and crossed the plate on a base hit by Slaughter to extend the margin to 4-0.

In the third, Dial doubled with one out and came in to score on a two-base hit by Priebe.

Megan Creek started the fourth with a base on balls. Rader and Claire Shannan also walked, loading the bases for Dial. She delivered again, another double to the gap to plate two more runs.

Brashear made its only noise of the night on offense in the fourth, when Creek surrendered a two-run homer.

Three consecutive hits by Wright, Katie Howard and Creek allowed SCR-I to make it 10-2 in the bottom of the fifth.

Shannan walked and came in to score on a groundout by Paige Hyde to make the final score 11-1.

Creek notched the win, allowing two runs on four hits while walking none. The senior struck out 16 batters in seven innings of work.

SCR-I improved to 5-3 on the season with the victory.
