Tigers Trounce Milan 71-33 to Advance to Tourney Semifinals

Eight different Tigers got into the scorebook Tuesday night in Novinger as Scotland County took care of business in the first round of tournament play, besting Milan 71-33.

The #2 seeded Tigers had little trouble with #7 Milan, jumping out to an 18-9 lead in the first period. Lucas Howard had 10 points during the early stretch that set the tone for the contest.

Jacob Hull and Brice Cowell converted three-point plays in the second period as SCR-I outscored Milan 12-8 to build a 30-17 advantage at the intermission.

The third period was all Scotland County. Howard added nine points in the quarter as the Tigers went on a 24-9 run to put the game away for good. Cowell had seven points during the stretch and Bailey Johnston had four points.

Cowell and Jacob Blessing each had a pair of field goals in the fourth period and Chris Jackson nailed a three-pointer as Scotland County put the finishing touches on the blowout win.

Howard led all scorers with 23 points. Cowell finished with 18 points for the Tigers (1-1).

Milan was led in scoring by Paul Palacios with 10 points.
