Gorin Man Arrested Following Crash

A one-vehicle accident in rural Scotland County at around 10:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, January 19th resulted in the arrest of a Gorin man on multiple charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Justin J. Howe, 33, was taken into custody at the scene of the one-car crash, that occurred three miles north of Gorin on Route A.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene after a caller reported a car had run off the roadway and overturned multiple times.

Howe, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was treated at the scene by the Scotland County Ambulance Service but refused transfer.

He was arrested for driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender, a class D felony. He also was ticketed for no valid driver's license, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident.

Howe was transported to the Scotland County Jail where he remained overnight on a 24 investigative hold before being released on January 20th.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Lakeside Towing.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Memphis Police Department, the Scotland County Ambulance Service and first responders.
