SCH Employees Recognized by Hospital Board

The Scotland County Hospital Board of Directors and Administration recently recognized employees for their extra work and efforts during the Hospital's expansion and construction project. With over 26,000 square feet of new construction and nearly 13,500 square feet of renovated space at Scotland County Hospital, all departments and employees were stretched to keep operations safe, clean, efficient and functional during the construction project. Many employees took on additional tasks in order to accommodate the construction and contractors.

The Maintenance Department was recognized for their exceptional construction and carpentry skills, while providing diligent attention to other maintenance needs of the departments and staff during the construction project. Maintenance Department Supervisor, Jamie Kice and Assistant Supervisor, Jack Walter, were individually recognized for their management, coordination and communication with contractors, suppliers and Administration.

Ruth Addison, Supervisor of the Housekeeping Department, was recognized for her attention to the additional housekeeping needed to keep the facility & equipment clean during the construction and renovation. Additionally, Leon Buford, Floor Maintenance Supervisor, received recognition for his exceptional care and attention to the floors in the facility.

Ken McMinn, Supervisor of the Information Technology (IT) Department, was recognized with his department staff, Robert Miller and Cody Arnold, for their coordination of technology and networking equipment and installation of over 10 miles of cable throughout the new and renovated facilities.

Jasetia Buckallew, Nursing Administration Assistant, was recognized for her coordination between Administration and the design builder and her attention to the details of selecting and purchasing interior and exterior fixtures, color schemes and supplies as well as coordinating vendors and contractors for the project.

Alisa Kigar, Communications Specialist, was recognized for coordination of media and community awareness of facility entrances & exits, parking lots and hallway closures and signage during the Hospital's construction and renovation project.

Karen Smith, Purchasing Supervisor, was recognized for her coordination and organization of ordering supplies and materials to meet the construction demands and the additional purchase orders that were issued during the hospital's renovation and expansion.

Sheryl Templeton, Chief Financial Officer, was recognized for her accurate fiscal monitoring of the USDA funding, which required additional documentation and paperwork.

The hospital and clinic patients and families are to be praised for the patience they practiced and the inconveniences they incurred in order to utilize our facilities during the construction project. The Board, Administration and employees of Scotland County Hospital and Clinics wishes to thank each and every patient and family member that chooses to use our healthcare services.
