Baring Woman Injured in Second Crash in 10 Days
Just 10 days after being seriously injured in an ATV accident, a Baring woman sustained moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident only a mile away from the previous crash scene.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Shannon M Downing, 26, was a passenger in a 2010 Toyota Camry that crashed on a slush-covered roadway a mile south of Baring on Highway EE at 2 p.m. on March 5th.
Suzanna M. Downing, 55, of Baring was southbound on Route EE when she apparently lost control of the car due to the road conditions. The car crossed the center line and ran off the east side of the roadway where it struck a sign and a culvert before overturning.
Both women sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Suzanna Downing was transported by Knox County Ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. Shannon Downing refused treatment at the scene.
The Patrol was assisted at the crash scene by the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Knox County Ambulance Service and the Baring Fire Department.
