Farmers Market Looking for Vendors
Memphis Farmers Market will open its fifth season on May 16th. The Farmer's Market is open weekly, each Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Scotland County Courthouse lawn.
Organizers are seeking vendors of produce, value-added products, meat, dairy, eggs, and fruit grown or produced within Scotland County or one of the surrounding counties.
Home-crafted items may also be acceptable.
There is no charge in May for vendors to set up at the market. There is a $3 fee per table each week for vendors beginning in June.
Vendors must have produced the items they are selling or have first-hand knowledge of production.
Farmers markets are an excellent opportunity for farmers because they take home the full retail price, while customers enjoy farm-fresh local produce at the peak of its flavor. This year the market will be accepting EBT/DEBIT cards.
Markets will be held in Memphis May 16th through August 15th. For more information, call 660-988-3552.
