Rotary Club to Host 7th Annual John Ed Luther Memorial Golf Tournament
The late John Ed Luther is remembered not only as a judge, but also as a Rotarian and an avid golfer. The two latter pursuits have been joined together in a memorial tribute to the past club member.
The Scotland County Rotary Club will host its seventh annual tribute to Luther. Golfers will gather at Timber Ridge Golf Course in Memphis on May 10th to pay tribute to one of the course's most faithful players while helping raise money for a good cause.
The $260 team entry fee will go toward the rotary club's annual scholarship fund which helps send Scotland County R-I graduates on to college.
Area businesses also can contribute to the event, with sponsorship levels ranging from $25 to $100.
The four-player teams will participate in a scramble tournament over 18 holes. Tee time is 10 a.m. Trophies will be presented to the top scores in two flights. Prizes will also be awarded for various contests on the course and lunch will be served.
