Traffic Stop Ends in Drug Arrest
A pair of Iowa teenagers are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Scotland County.
According to the Scotland County Sheriff's Office, Dalton B. Dohrn, 19, of Leon, IA, was ticketed for possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia following the June 7th incident.
At 5:38 p.m. a sheriff's deputy stopped a 1998 Chevy Cavalier on Route W approximately five miles northwest of Rutledge for a traffic violation. It was discovered that he was operating the motor vehicle without a valid driver's license. He was issued a ticket for the violation
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a substance believed to be marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. The sheriff's office was assisted by the Memphis Police Department in the investigation.
A passenger in the vehicle Danelle R. Potter, 17, also of Leon, IA, was ticketed with possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Both individuals were transported to the Scotland County Sheriff Office. Dohrn was released after posting $300 cash bond. Potter was released on $150 cash bond.
Both are scheduled to appear in the Scotland County Associate Circuit Court on June 25th at 9 a.m.
