Wyaconda Fall Fest to Honor Town's 125th Birthday

The theme for the Wyaconda Fall Fest parade will be "Happy 125th Birthday Wyaconda." This was one of many decisions made at the last planning committee meeting. Officers for the committee were also elected. Mary Dieterich is the president, Heather Knupp is the vice president, and Tammy Hammond is the secretary/treasurer.

The tentative schedule for the Wyaconda Fall Fest, which will be held September 7th, will feature barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs served by the Wyaconda Fire Deptartment from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m.

Big Bri's and Froggies restaurants will also be open throughout the day.

The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. Entrants will need to fill out an entry form, and those will be made available at a later date. Contact Lisa Cochran for more information on the parade at 660-216-7661.

Kids games will be offered from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. with Lynne Daniels also providing entertainment by clowning and playing accordion during the games.

The time capsule will be opened in a ceremony at 3:00 p.m. State Senator Brian Munzlinger will also be in attendance to read a resolution honoring Wyaconda on its 125th birthday.

The People's Bank of Wyaconda will sponsor a fish fry from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., and musical entertainment will be provided during the meal, sponsored by Helena.

The cow chip bingo winner will also be announced at 4:00 p.m. See any committee member for bingo tickets for a chance to win up to $1,000.

Other activities may be added to the schedule as plans are confirmed.

The committee met Wednesday, July 24th at the Wyaconda Community Building. Volunteers are needed to help with activities, and any donations to help with the cost of the festivities are appreciated. Contact Mary Dieterich at 573-215-2778 for further information.
