Mark Twain Chorale to Offer Free Concert Sunday
The Mark Twain Chorale International, accompanied by Dennis and Linda Richardson and under the direction of Dr. Dan O'Donnell, will present a free concert Sunday, August 25th at 3:00 p.m. in the Memphis Theater.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend as the groups sings a variety of music by American composers, including spirituals, gospel arrangements, Broadway show tunes, folk songs and a recent Dolly Parton ballad featuring Lisa Blake as soloist.
The Mark Twain Chorale International was formed in 1997 to perform at the Vienna Advent Festival in Vienna, Austria. The group has since performed in the Mozart Festival in Salzburg, Austria in 1999, in Rome and Florence, Italy in 2001, in Ireland in 2003, in Germany and Switzerland in 2005, in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands in 2007, in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary in 2009, and in England, Scotland and Wales in 2011. The group is made up of singers from Memphis, Kahoka, Edina, Jefferson City, Keosauqua, Hamilton and the tri-state area.
The concert is free of charge and all are invited to enjoy the variety of selections of American music.
