Inmate Dies While in Custody at Scotland County Jail
The death of an inmate in the Scotland County Jail is being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Scotland County Sheriff Wayne Winn announced that an inmate died overnight on Sunday, August 18th while in custody at the Scotland County Jail.
The Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) took charge of the investigation on Sunday morning at the request of the sheriff's office.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday to determine the cause of death. The inmate's name was not being released, pending notification of family.
