Kansas Family Hurt on Crash Caused by Deer

A Kansas family went for a wild ride in Scotland County on Tuesday night courtesy of several deer in the roadway.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Priscilla A. Figueroa, 30, of Kansas City, KS, was eastbound on Highway 136 in a 2004 Dodge Stratus when she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway. The car impacted another deer before driving off the right side of the roadway where the car overturned.

The driver and two passengers in the car, Raquel R. Figueroa, 26, and Naomi G. Figueroa, 2, both of Overland Park, all sustained minor injuries in the crash. All three were transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Hospital in Memphis.

The accident occurred at 6:45 p.m. on October 8th on Highway 136 near the Route F intersection east of Arbela.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff's Office, Memphis Police Department, Gorin Fire Department, Scotland County Ambulance Service and first responders.

The vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was removed from the scene by Lakeside Towing of Memphis.
