Marijuana Cultivation Operation Busted Near Arbela

A six-week undercover investigation has led to the arrest of an Arbela man following the bust of an alleged marijuana cultivation operation.

According to the Scotland County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant was issued on October 16th for Gary L. Fulk, age 40. Fulk was taken into custody on a class B felony count of producing a controlled substance and a class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

According to court documents, on October 15th, a search warrant was executed at Fulk's residence, which is located two miles north of Arbela. The search uncovered five marijuana plants, a large amount of marijuana as well as other drug paraphernalia, cultivating equipment and contraband.

The search warrant was issued after surveillance uncovered a number of cultivated marijuana plants being grown on the farm owned by Fulk.

Court documents reveal that investigators obtained video and photographic evidence of the suspect tending to the plants and utilizing an ATV to deliver equipment and materials to the site and transporting the plants.

Fulk is being held in the Scotland County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

He was arraigned in Scotland County Circuit Court on October 21st, entering a plea of not guilty. A preliminary hearing before Judge Rick Roberts has been set for Wednesday, October 30th.
