SCR-I Debuts New Digital Sign to Share School Info

Scotland County R-I schools now have a new digital welcome sign located at the middle parking lot entrance between the elementary and high schools.

The Scotland County R-I School District has a new TekStar LED sign from Stewart Signs. The fully digital screen was placed just west of the center entrance/exit between the elementary and high schools facing Lover's Lane.

The sign is now fully operational and replaces the sign that was lost in the storm damage in 2008.

The purchase of the sign was covered through the insurance claim on the old sign and donations from Scotland County R-I school supporters.

"We have received some very generous donations from the Scotland County Booster Club, Scotland County PTO, Kevin Fromm, Scotland County Pharmacy, Hillyard, Winger, Harper & Sons Construction, Carol Alderton, MFA Farmers Elevator & Produce, Richardson Farms, MyMedMart, Mayberry Farms, M&O Concrete, Casey's General Store, Jeremy Hamlin Construction, and Tri- County Electric.

"We are excited about the flexibility this sign will give us in regards to communication with our district patrons," said Superintendent Ryan Bergeson. "Be sure to thank the people that helped make this project possible."

The district encourages the community to contact the superintendent's office to suggest any news, information, and/or updates to be displayed on the sign.
