VERONICA JEANNE BERRY
(8/15/1963 - 1/10/2013)



Veronica Jeanne Berry, 49, of Gorin, Missouri, died at her home, Thursday, January 10, 2013.

Veronica was born August 15, 1963 in Washington, Iowa to Frank U. and Harriette Jane Wagner Bass. She grew up in Iowa and was a graduate of Columbus Junction High School, Class of 1979. She moved to Gorin, Missouri and was a care giver for children and the elderly. She was fondly known as " Miss Roni" at Head Start in Wyaconda, Missouri where she worked for many years. She enjoyed birds and especially enjoyed watching cardinals and fishing. Veronica's greatest pleasure was realized when she could spend time with her family. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Gorin.

She is survived by a son, Shane Mittan of East Moline, Illinois and a daughter, Barbara Berry of Gorin, Missouri. Also surviving are five brothers: Bill Bass of Memphis, Missouri; Boot Bass and his wife, Candy, Fred (Pup) Bass and his wife, Ginger, Clint (Doc) Bass, all of Gorin, Missouri; Pete Bass of Kahoka, Missouri; three sisters: Toni Sears and her husband, Bob, of Gorin, Missouri; Leah Colbert, Tracey Ross and friend, Doug Chamberlin, of Muscatine, Iowa; and nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jeffery and a sister, Barbara Skipton.

Visitation was held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Memphis Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. followed by a funeral service with Pastor Mark Drummond officiating. Musical selections will be "Holes In The Floor of Heaven" and "When I Get To Where I'm Going".

Cremation will be accorded following the service. A private service for burial of cremains will take place at a later date in the Gorin Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to the Barbara Berry Education Fund and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
