HERMAN WILLIAM (PUEKERT) PIKERT, JR.
(3/16/1961 - 3/13/2013)



Herman William Pikert, age 51, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 16, 1961, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the son of the late Herman William and Mary Ruth (Lewis) Peukert.

Herman was a 1979 graduate of Scotland County R-1 High School in Memphis, Missouri. He also attended Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville from 1979-1980 and graduated from Basic Industrial Technical School in St. Louis in 1984. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1988-1992. Herman worked as a Central Office Technician for Centurylink in Mt. Vernon for 25 years. He loved fishing, mushroom hunting, the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball, the Rams, Mizzou Tigers, and most importantly, his family. On May 24, 1997, he married Donna Patten in Mt. Vernon.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna; two sons, Brandon and his wife Julie Pikert and Travis Pikert all of Springfield; two stepsons, Jason Patten of Mt. Vernon and Jacob and his wife Traci Watson of Billings; two grandchildren, Breanna and Madison Watson; two brothers, Donald and his wife Vicki Peukert of Warrenton and Steve and his wife Mitzie Pikert of Jacksonville, Illinois; one sister, Sandra and her husband Larry Schroeder of Jacksonville, Illinois; Godson, Cullen Newport; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home with burial at Pennsboro Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
