LARENA MAUDE RODGERS
(12/21/1917 - 3/13/2013)



LaRena (Rena) Maude Rodgers (Crawford), 95, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away March 13, 2013 following a brief illness.

Rena was born December 21, 1917, the only child of Joseph C. Crawford and Beulah M. (Martin) Crawford. Her Father was killed in World War I in France. She was united in marriage to Cecil W. Rodgers on September 22, 1937 in Memphis, Missouri. To this union one son was born, Larry N. Rodgers.

Rena sold Avon for many years in the Memphis area, as well as having done sewing and upholstery work in Missouri, Nevada and Florida. After moving to Rolla from Florida, she was a volunteer at Phelps County Regional Medical Center for the past 18 years. She volunteered in the Hospital sewing room working 5 days a week until November 2012 when her health began to fail.

Rena loved to travel the world and did tour Italy, Spain, China, Japan and the Scandinavian Countries as well as others.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Crawford, mother Beulah Lancaster and her stepfather Freeman Garman.

Rena is survived by her son, Larry and wife Zelma of Rolla, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tracy and wife Charlene of Texas, Tonja and husband John of Iowa, Lance of Arizona and Lacey and friend Jason of Iowa. She is also survived by two step - grandchildren Jeff of Rolla and Rhonda and husband Chad of Gorin; 11 great - grandchildren and four great - great - grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Phelps Regional Hospice and may be left or mailed to Null and Son Funeral Home, 1010 W Kingshighway, Rolla, Missouri 65401.

Graveside services were conducted by Null and Son Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 at the Memphis Cemetery with Brother Jim Campbell officiating, after which Rena was laid to rest.
