AMOS H. ZIMMERMAN
(2/2/1938 - 4/6/2013))



Amos H. Zimmerman, age 75, of Tipton, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. He was born February 2, 1938, in East Earl Township, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Mahlon and Anna G. Horning Zimmerman. On September 24, 1960, he was united in marriage to Frances N. Zimmerman, who survives the home.

He was a farmer and faithful member of the Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church in Latham.

In addition to his wife, Frances, Amos is survived by his children, Dorothy, wife of Clyde Zimmerman of Arbela, Missouri, Marlene, wife of Kenneth Burkholder of Baring, Missouri, Elaine, wife of Glen Oberholtzer of Rutledge, Missouri, Lamar of the home, Amos Jr. and wife Darla Martin Zimmerman of Cantril, Iowa, Clair and wife Joann Garman Zimmerman of Tipton, Missouri, Curvin and wife Mary Jane Oberholtzer Zimmerman of La Monte, Missouri, Rhoda, wife of Michael Nolt of Latham, Missouri, Lynford and wife Genida Zeiset Zimmerman of Knox City, Missouri; sixty-five grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by three grandsons.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 10 at the Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church in Latham, with interment in the Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday, April 9 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Community Center in Latham. Arrangements were under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
