DANIEL FRANKLIN KNUPP, JR.
(5/13/1939 - 8/17/2013)



Daniel Franklin Knupp Jr., 74, of rural Memphis, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his rural home near Memphis, MO. The son of Daniel Franklin and Lola Marie Saylor Knupp, Sr., he was born May 13, 1939 at home near Mt. Sterling, Iowa. He graduated from Milton High School in 1958.

Danny was a simple man and had a love for motorcycles and working on his 1972 Chevy trucks, spending time with his family along with visiting with people and enjoying the outdoor life.

He was self employed and did a number of things while he was able to. He had a body shop earlier in life, trucked a long time, worked on electrical equipment as well as various other jobs.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Knupp, and his parents.

He is survived by his five children, Marti and husband Eric Vassholz of Harrisonville, MO; Destry Knupp and fiance Beth Westhoff of Memphis, MO; Shelli Stone of Memphis, MO; Jami Knupp of Memphis, MO; and Kristi and husband Matt Frederick of Memphis, MO; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Nikkel of Ottumwa, IA and Frances Kay Arnold of Centerville, Iowa.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the family for their discretion and can be left at or mailed to the Payne funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Graveside services were held at the South Prairie Cemetery in Van Buren County, Iowa, with Larry Smith officiating.

Pallbearers were Larry Tinkle, Leslie Watkins, Garland Waibel, Dean Smoot, David Newman and Tom Crawford.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
