The daughter of Russell and Florence Aylor Gordy, Carla Louise Henderson was born March 8, 1946 in Fairfield, Iowa. She passed away August 30, 2013 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
Carla grew up in the rural area of Mt. Sterling, Iowa where she attended and graduated from the Revere, Missouri High School in 1964. She married Freddie Henderson on November 20, 1965 in Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and became a farmer's wife. To this union two children were born, Lisa and Jeff. You could always count on Carla to be there when you needed her, whether it was taking the kids to a school event or activity or helping move farm equipment.
Carla loved to play bingo. During the 1980s and early 90s she was a permanent fixture on Tuesday nights at the Rotary Bingo. She hardly missed a Tuesday night.
She was a great wife, mother, and friend. She will be missed by all.
