Russell "Rusty" Dale Simbro, 91 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 05, 2013 at his son's home in Lancaster, Missouri.

The son of Jake Lawrence and Ruth Ann (Hamilton) Simbro, he was born on March 22, 1922 in Runnell, Iowa. On November 15, 1940, he was united in marriage to Billye Elizabeth Kelley and to this union two daughters and two sons were born, Carol Rae, Sharon Kay, Billy Dale and Dwight.

Rusty began his farming career in the Mt. Tabor School District in Schuyler County. He was later inducted in the United States Army during World War II and after being honorably discharged, continued his farming career and logging. Besides farming, Rusty also drove a school bus for approximately 25 years for the Schuyler R-I School District.

Rusty is survived by his children, Carol Rae Jenks and husband, Bob of Lancaster, Missouri, Billy Dale Simbro and wife, Virginia of Lancaster, Missouri and Dwight Simbro and wife, Marilyn of Seymour, Iowa; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Howard and husband Mel of Annapolis, Maryland, Doris Knupp and husband Joe of Chicago, Illinois; nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.

Rusty is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billye Elizabeth Simbro on January 11, 2000; a daughter, Sharon Kay Chevalier and her husband, Francis; a grandson, Eric Simbro; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Charlotte Grunwell and husband Don, Marval Yearns and husband Lloyd, Juanita Ruth Hill and husband Wayne and two in infancy and a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth Simbro and wife Emma.

Rusty was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Steve Altheide assisted by Sonny Smyser officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Cole Tippett. Special selections will be "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden" and "Daddy's Hands". Pallbearers will be Terry Leaver, Ken Leaver, Chris Simbro, Rusty Chevalier, Billy Chevalier and Bobby Chevalier. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Glenwood Cemetery, Schuyler County Nutrition Site or the donor's choice. Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri with military rites by the Wallace W. Gillespie Memorial Post #4958 of the V.F.W. of Memphis.
