EVELYN CAROL NEWCOMB

Evelyn Carol Newcomb, age 69 of Memphis, MO, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013, in the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.
She was born on December 22, 1943, in Novinger, MO, the daughter of Edward Julian and Laura Mae Snow Sullivan.
She was united in marriage to Morris Glenn Newcomb, Jr. on June 25, 1960, in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1993. Mrs. Newcomb was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother Keith Sullivan.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly Renee Blaine and husband Dennis of Memphis, MO, Terry Joann Wilson and husband Keith Alan of Bloomfield, MO, and Glenda Michelle Jebreel of Cincinnati, OH, six grandchildren Laci Wheeler and husband Buddy, Derrick Blaine, Kimberly Burnett and husband Robbie, LaMayra Hicks and husband Jeremy, Melissa Gail Ammons, and Karimah Renee Jebreel, ten great-grandchildren, one brother Eugene Sullivan of Kirksville, MO, three sisters Anna Mae Starr of Kirksville, MO, Joyce Booth and husband Buddy of Kirksville, MO, and Judy Sullivan of Palmyra, MO and several nieces, nephews and cousins including a special cousin Carolyn Durham of LaPlata, MO.
Carol was raised in Novinger, MO where she received her education. She was a housewife and homemaker. She and her husband were engaged in farming in the Rutledge community for several years. Carol also worked for Heartland Home Care in Kirksville, MO several years.
Carol enjoyed sewing, cooking, caring for her farm animals, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carol was baptized at the age of seven in a pond near Novinger, MO.
Funeral services were held October 29, 2013, at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, MO. Reverend Larry Smith officiated the services. Burial was in the Ft. Madison Cemetery Northeast of Kirksville, MO.
Casket bearers were David Sullivan, Gail Sullivan, Buddy Wheeler, Jerry Scurlock, John Scurlock, and David Neagle.
Visitation was held October 29, 2013, in the Downing Christian Church in Downing, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
