DORCAS JUANITA CALDWELL MOHR
(8/8/1925 - 11/2/2013)



Dorcas Juanita (Caldwell) Mohr, 88, of Lynchburg VA, formerly of Canton, died Saturday, November 2, 2013.

She was born the daughter of Elzey R. and Zella F. (Alderton) Caldwell on August 8, 1925 in Knox County.

Dorcas married Delbert H. Mohr on December 21, 1947 in Wyaconda. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years on June 22, 2002.

She was a retired elementary school teacher in the Canton, MO, public school system. Dorcas was a member of the First Baptist Church in Canton. She dearly loved her church, her family and her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Raymond Caldwell.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Miller and husband Glenn of Lynchburg, VA and Joyce Cates and husband Greg of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren, Kara Vance and husband Jim of Harrisonburg, VA, Megan Goodwin and husband Jim of Blythewood, SC, and Stephen Cates and wife Caroline of Newport News, VA; great-grandchildren, James, Glenn, Abby and Sadie Vance of Harrisonburg, VA and Lauren and Katie Goodwin of Blythewood, SC ; and a sister, Mary Collins and husband Virgil of Lenexa, KS.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Canton with Reverend Brian Stone officiating. Pallbearers were Gerry Odom, Donald Dice, Stephen Cates, Virgil Collins, Verlin Alderton, and Reallen Caldwell. Honorary bearers were Kenneth Dieterich and Gary Feldkamp. Burial was in the Etna Cemetery in Scotland County, MO.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Canton or to the Lewis County Nursing Home and may be left at or mailed to Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555.
