Cardinals Fly By Tigers 54-32

South Shelby put the clamps on Tigers' leading scorer Lucas Howard early, and then turned on the offense in the second half en route to a 54-32 win over the Tigers in the January 11th game at Shelbyville.

The Cardinals shut out Howard in the first half, but SCR-I's defense kept the team close. Jacob Blessing hit a three pointer en route to five first quarter points that had SCR-I trailing just 11-9 at the end of eight minutes of play.

SCR-I's lone points of the second period came on a pair of field goals by William McRobert. South Shelby took a 20-13 lead at the break.

Howard came to life in the third period, scoring nine of the Tigers 11 points. But the Cardinals still extended the margin to 35-24.

South Shelby closed out the game with a 19-8 run to prevail 54-32.

Howard led Scotland County (5-7) in scoring with 15 points.
