Scotland County's three seniors looked determined not to let their season come to an end Tuesday night in Queen City and then they got a little help from their friends as the Lady Tigers dispatched Northeast (Cairo) High School 53-44.

SCR-I, the fourth seed in the Class 2 District 6 bracket, jumped out to an early lead over the fifth seeded Bearcats. The Lady Tigers three seniors had 12 of the teams' first 15 points. Megan Creek and Katie Howard each connected on three-pointers and Jessica Morrow scored in the paint to push their team to a 15-9 advantage.

The Lady Tigers hit a speed bump in the third period. Hailey Dial kept SCR-I above water, scoring all eight of her team's points during the eight-minute stretch that saw Cairo trim the deficit to 41-30.

Morrow had a pair of field goals in the fourth period as SCR-I answered the challenge. Dial and Creek hit key buckets as SCR-I held on for the 53-44 victory.
