Tigers Track Team Takes 4th at Dennis Anderson Relays

As spring breaks, the tendency of nature is to flock back to the north and that has been the case for the Scotland County track program. The Tigers' second meet of the season saw SCR-I migrating north for the Dennis Anderson Relays hosted by Davis County.

The Tigers brought home a fourth place finish from Bloomfield, IA, on April 2nd. SCR-I compiled 56 team points. Davis County and Fairfield tied for top honors with 150 points. Pella was third with 87 followed by the Tigers. Eddyville-Blakesburg was fifth with Pella Christian and Twin Cedars rounding out the standings.

Zach Miller had a big day for Scotland County. The senior crossed the finish line first in the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.987 seconds. He also brought home top honors in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 54.27 seconds and was third in the long jump, clearing 18'6".

Lucas Howard picked up second place points for the team in the 400-meter hurdles, running a 1:01.214. He was third in the high jump at 5'8" and finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles.

Zach Doubet was fifth in the high jump and Monte Sally finished fifth in the discus.

The SCR-I 4x400 relay team of Miller, Howard, Caleb Doubet and Terence Durham finished fourth.

The team score was rounded out by five sixth place finishes in the relays. The 4x800 relay team of Joseph Hite, Randan Kraus, Evan Hager and Morgan Carlton finished in 10:28.96 while the shuttle relay squad of Brendan Orton, Kraus, Durham and Carlton ran the race in 1:17.27.

The other relay squads were the 4x200 (Orton, Hite, Durham and Hager); 4x100 (Orton, Kraus, Hager and Z. Doubet); and the distance medley (C. Doubet, Durham, Z. Doubet and Hite).
