Lady Tigers Finish 7th at Marcus Hounsom Relays



Miranda Holland closes the gap on the Trenton runner as she sprints toward the finish line in the 100-meter dash at the Putnam County track meet on Friday.

Trenton was the cream of the crop Friday at Unionville as the Lady Bulldogs dominated the nine-team field at the Marcus Hounsom Relays hosted by Putnam County High School on April 26th. The top team racked up 178 total points to outdistance second place Brookfield, which posted an impressive teams core of its own at 134. Putnam County and Clark County tied for third with 70 team points followed by Knox County (49), Schuyler County (41) and the Lady Tigers (39). Milan finished with 37 points and Novinger had four team points. Randi Slaughter was the top performer for SCR-I. The sophomore finished third in the long jump at a distance of 14' 4.75". She also took fourth in the 400-meter dash and was seventh in the triple jump. Miranda Holland finished fifth in the 100-meter dash and the shot put. Renay Freindshuh took fifth in the 3,200 meter run and was sixth in the 800-meter dash. Karissa Adams took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles and was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. The SCR-I 4x800 relay team of Shai'lyn Brush, Friendshuh, Kassie Bulen and Kylee Johnston finished fifth as did the 4x400 relay team of Adams, Johnston, Brush and Slaughter. The 4x100 relay team of Adams, Bulen, Taylor Cooper and Holland was seventh and the 4x200 team also took seventh. Runners were Brush, Holland, Cooper and Johnston.
