Lady Tigers Mash Milan 10-0 in TRC Softball Action

Olivia Harris gets full extension en route to a diving catch of a foul pop up behind the plate during the Lady Tigers game in Memphis on September 26th.

A six-run sixth inning brought a key league game to an early end on Tuesday night in Memphis as Scotland County downed Milan 10-0 in Tri-Rivers Conference action.

SCR-I used the 10-run rule, but a single tally would have been enough as Bethany Rader shut down the Wildcats, tossing a one-hitter. In six innings of work the senior did not walk a batter while striking out 10 to record the shutout.

The Lady Tigers took an early lead, scoring twice in the top of the second inning. Randi Slaughter walked and stole second base. She scored on a double by Brieanna Priebe. Olivia Harris made it 2-0 with an RBI single.

Slaughter tripled in the third inning and scored on an RBI base hit by Priebe to make the score 3-0. SCR-I added another run in the fifth inning when Slaughter singled to lead off the frame. She stole second base and scored on a sacrifice fly by Rader pushing the margin to 4-0.

The Lady Tigers finished off Milan in the sixth inning. Maddie Brassfield started the rally with a single. After a bunt single by Hailey Dial, Shaye Wright crushed a two run double to the fence in centerfield. Abi Feeney reached on a bunt single before Miranda Holland reached on an error.

After a single by Slaughter loaded the bases, Rader and Priebe delivered RBI hits with courtesy runner Chelsea Wood scoring the final tally to end the contest. Slaughter was 3-3 on the night with two stolen bases and four runs scored. Priebe went 3-4 with four RBI and Harris and Dial were both 2-3.
