Independent Film Looking for Actors for Scotland County Scenes

Family ties to Scotland County are bringing an actress back to Memphis this weekend to shoot scenes for an independent film project she is producing.

Diane Baldwin of Los Angeles, CA, will be filming scenes for her production, Long Shivering in Scotland County in January. The psychological horror film is set in 1991 when an aspiring actress returns to her rural roots to adopt her niece only to be left stranded on the old abandoned family farmstead.

Baldwin said she is looking for easy going people who wouldn't mind working with a small crew on a no-frills set.

"We are still looking for local actors, ages 14 - 60, to fill several roles in the film. It is a low-budget independent horror film so payment will be deferred, however, they will be able to work on a professional set with a real Hollywood crew. We ask that actors send a picture and any reels/videos to the email address provided. Also, if anyone is interested in working on the set to see how things are done we would be accepting people for crew as well.

All contacts can go to uglymariafilms@gmail.com.

She said the production will be shooting in Memphis from January 14th - January 23rd. The actors will be needed starting January 18th - January 22nd.

Baldwin plans to submit Long Shivering to many film festivals and has an end goal of commercial distribution of the movie.

She added that no experience is necessary. "This would be a great film for any actor, very character driven," she said.

Baldwin is the granddaughter of Bob Trueblood of Arbela and Lela Trueblood of Memphis.

For more information on the film or regarding available roles, contact Baldwin via email at uglymariafilms@gmail.com or check out the movie website at longshivering.moonfruit.com.
